Today is National Dolly Day 9 to (2) 5 (get it?) because one thing everyone in this world can universally agree on is we LOVE Dolly Parton!
Dolly Parton was so much more than a country singer, and we think much of her worldwide adoration was due to the amazing philanthropic work she did to provide communities, children, and animals support and second chances.
Working in a nonprofit space, we are constantly grateful for and hold the utmost respect for people who choose to do good with their money, regardless of how much or how little they have, for people and animals who they never even meet.
What greater legacy could you leave than knowing your presence on this earth made the lives of countless people and animals better? To us, there is nothing more meaningful we could strive for.
Dolly dedicated her life to giving back and making this world a better place, and we want to honor her the best way we can, by saving lives and giving back to souls in need in our local community.
✨In honor of National Dolly Day, we are planning to pull as many mill mamas as we can from puppy mills in her honor! 🐾
Mill mamas are dogs who were used as breeder dogs in commercial breeding facilities, often referred to as puppy mills. These dogs typically spend years living in cages or small enclosures, often inside barns. They are bred litter after litter, often enduring horrific neglect and abuse that goes unreported due to the sheer number of dogs housed in a single commercial breeding facility.
They are treated solely as a tool to produce puppies for profit, and nothing more. When they are no longer considered profitable, they are discarded. Almost without exception, the dogs who come to us need significant medical care and extensive emotional healing due to years of neglect.
