Max

Max (fka Cheese) came to us after being found as a stray in the city of Philadelphia, suffering from the deadly disease parvovirus.

Max required extensive, immediate medical care to be given a chance at survival. Thanks to our ACCTS of Love Fund, we were able to provide him with a life-saving monoclonal antibody treatment, along with all the supportive care he needed to reclaim his life.

Afterward, Max went into a loving foster home where he began learning the ropes before eventually finding his forever family. Today, Max’s life is filled with comfort, love, and a family who will truly be his forever. This is the happy ending we dream of for every single dog.

Please enjoy this update from Max’s forever family:

“Thank you for allowing us to adopt Max (previously Cheese). We’ve experienced a few growing pains and are working on some manners training, but he truly is a sweet dog. He’s gaining weight and adjusting well.

We’re learning that not all food is his, that kids’ toys, shoes, ornaments, garlic, cloth (and more!) are not for eating—and that tables and counters are not for standing on… and we mean all four paws on our 4-foot kitchen counters!

He’s adjusted well with our other dogs, and my boys absolutely love him. He enjoys watching Bluey with the kids and takes good care of them when they’re sick. We had a previously planned trip this past weekend, so my parents watched all the dogs along with their Lab/Heeler. They said four dogs was a lot, but Max loved Mimi and Papa’s house—and Lucy and Max were both completely exhausted!”

Big hugs to Max and his forever family 💛 Thank you for opening your hearts to such a sweet boy. Your commitment to providing guidance, training, structure—and understanding what rescuing a dog is all about —has given Max the forever he has always deserved.
