Queso
When she arrived, she was terrified of the world. She would sit tucked into corners, pressing against the walls, waiting for someone to reach out to her so she could climb into their lap for safety.
Just days after entering foster care, Queso became critically ill with parvo and pneumonia, both contracted at the puppy mill. We couldn’t stop thinking how different her fate would have been if she hadn’t made it out in time. But thanks to her incredible spirit, Queso fought hard and survived.
We met her forever mom, Abi, at an adoption event and suggested a meet at Queso’s foster home. One meeting was all it took, and Queso had found her perfect family.
Today, “The Big Cheese” lives with five other rescues and even volunteers as a therapy dog!
Queso went from a puppy mill dog who may not have survived, to a dog who now helps heal others. She is a beautiful reminder of just how incredible special-needs dogs are.
Huge hugs to Abi and her family for giving Queso the life she always deserved, and more!
