Sasha

Sasha (formerly known as Millie) came to us after being found as a stray in the city of Philadelphia, suffering from the deadly disease parvovirus.

Sasha required extensive, immediate medical care to be given a chance at survival. Thanks to our “ACCTs of Love” Fund, we were able to provide her with a life-saving monoclonal antibody treatment, along with all the supportive care she needed to reclaim her life.

Sasha was initially very shy and unsure with all of the changes in her life—as so many dogs are when they enter a shelter environment. Most dogs need time to decompress and open up, and we are incredibly grateful for adopters who understand this and are willing to offer patience and compassion during adoption meets, and again throughout the weeks it takes for a dog to fully transition into their new home.

Today, Sasha’s life is filled with comfort, love, and a family who will truly be her forever. This is the happy ending we dream of for every single dog.

Please enjoy this update from Sasha’s forever family:

“I wanted to share an update on Sasha, previously known as Millie. She has been with us since September and in that time has taken many walks, gone on RV camping trips, destroyed more lambchop toys than we can count, and gained a doggy sister in our girl Maggie.

I want to urge everyone to consider adopting, in a time where shelters are completely overwhelmed and underfunded please look to rescues first! Don’t expect to receive a perfect dog immediately and GIVE THEM A CHANCE. Sasha took some time to warm up but when she realized she was finally safe- her true personality blossomed. Sasha and Maggie have become inseparable and they have brought us so much laughter with all the antics they get up to as well as constantly copying what the other does.”

Big hugs to Sasha and her forever family 💛 Thank you for opening your hearts to such a sweet girl, and your commitment to giving her the time and safe place she needed. Rescuing a dog is not always quick and easy, but is always worth it!
