Theo

Theo (fka Howlite) came to us as a surrender from a commercial breeding facility in Lancaster County, along with his seven siblings.

These puppies were given up because the litter couldn’t be sold, and the facility had multiple other dogs already pregnant who could be sold for a higher price due to being younger. Theo and his siblings spent the first 12 weeks of their lives without socialization and were very nervous and shy when they arrived in our care.

Families who adopt puppy mill survivors take on the important job of helping these dogs learn that the world is safe and teaching them how to navigate it with confidence. While this journey is incredibly rewarding, it also requires patience, dedication, and commitment. We are so fortunate to know so many wonderful families who are willing to do this meaningful work for such deserving dogs.

Please read this update from Theo’s forever mom below:

“We adopted Theo at 4 months of age, and he’s now 2 years old. He was very shy and timid when he came to us and remains standoffish at times, but overall he’s come out of his shell and become part of our family. He goes many places with us—walks, the park, and running errands. Theo loves car rides and pet stores! He enjoys visiting family with us, LOVES to play with other friendly dogs, and adores people, especially children. He was easy to train and listens fairly well (we all have our moments). Overall, he’s the best dog we ever could have asked for!”

Big hugs to Theo and his wonderful family for choosing adoption and giving him the life he always deserved. We are so grateful to see him thriving and so happy.
